Sanya organizes a bicycle riding event for "Car-Free Day"

Sanya Channel of People's Daily, September 22: September 22nd marks the 15th World Car-Free Day, China's 7th, and the first workday after the Mid-Autumn Festival. This year's theme is "Caring for the City, Green Commuting," encouraging the use of public transport, bicycles, and walking to reduce reliance on cars and promote a low-carbon lifestyle. On the morning of the 22nd, the Sanya Cycling Association organized over 200 people in a cycling event. Participants included association members, cycling enthusiasts, and low-carbon advocates. The event aimed to encourage reduced vehicle use and promote public transport, cycling, and walking. One cyclist, Mr. Li, told reporters he's a cycling enthusiast who has done island-wide rides and brought a Russian friend to the event. He hopes to encourage a lifestyle with minimal environmental impact and energy consumption. Car-Free Day originated in Paris and spread globally. Nearly 1500 cities hold public transport-themed events around September 22nd. The event came to China in 2006, promoting public transport to reduce car use.
