Bicycle business opportunities behind Hainan International Tourism Island planning

Zhu Dingjian, a member of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, recently suggested that the principle of "development within protection" should be followed to take the lead in formulating a sustainable development white paper on "the development of mass sports and the construction of an international tourism island."
"Currently, Hainan's competitive sports are still at a relatively low level nationwide, but due to its unique climate conditions and superior natural environment, there is great potential for developing national fitness, mass sports, and campus sports in Hainan." Zhu Dingjian believes that mass sports are also closely related to tourism development, residents' lifestyles, and the level of urban civilization, and may generate direct impetus for the construction of a tourism island and a health island, becoming an important indicator for improving Hainan's soft power.
"I suggest that the planning and construction of mass sports facilities be integrated with the optimization of the overall urban development plan and combined with the island's low-carbon development model." Zhu Dingjian gave the example of "Copenhagen's city government's decision to build the world's leading cycling city by 2015 and the world's first carbon-neutral city by 2025."
Zhu Dingjian stated that China was once a major bicycle country, but currently, in major and medium-sized cities across the country, this convenient, clean, and low-carbon mode of transportation is gradually disappearing. "In fact, in Hainan, including Haikou, many cities and counties have the ability to lead the country in developing bicycle transportation and jogging systems through good urban and transportation planning." Zhu Dingjian said that this plan can also be combined with Hainan's integrated urban-rural development to promote Hainan to become a model province with low emissions in the country.
"The government should fully encourage, educate, and guide people to change their lifestyles and establish a low-carbon society. A detailed low-carbon living guide should be formulated, telling everyone how we can become guardians of our beautiful homeland." Zhu Dingjian is confident, "Therefore, Hainan can take the lead in researching, formulating, and publishing a sustainable development white paper on 'the development of mass sports and the construction of an international tourism island' to promote the establishment of Hainan's low-carbon development model."
According to Zhu Dingjian's suggestion, if Hainan decides to publish a sustainable development white paper on "the development of mass sports and the construction of an international tourism island", develops an international tourism island, and emulates Copenhagen to become China's first zero-emission tourism island and health island, regardless of the length of the cycle or the number of obstacles, the huge and diverse bicycle demand and future bicycle-related events in Hainan cannot be ignored. Perhaps this day will not be far off...
