Registration Begins for the First National Outstanding Bicycle Club Selection

　　In recent years, with people's awareness of environmental protection and healthy concepts becoming increasingly deeply rooted, the attributes of bicycles as green and environmentally friendly transportation tools and fashionable fitness equipment have been widely accepted by the public. Bicycle culture is flourishing. Hundreds and thousands of various cycling clubs have also been born. According to incomplete statistics, in nearly 700 cities at or above the county level in China, there are at least more than 2000 various bicycle clubs. These clubs carry out activities with different themes, some emphasizing training and competitions, some focusing on leisure cycling, some focusing on health and fitness for the elderly and middle-aged, and some focusing on social practice for college students. Cycling clubs have become a fundamental force in building China's cycling culture.

　　In order to commend the outstanding contributions of bicycle clubs to the development of China's cycling culture, to set an example for club building, to enhance the public's attention to bicycle cycling culture, and to further promote the prosperous development of China's cycling culture, this national outstanding bicycle club selection activity is specially launched.

　　This selection activity is hosted by the China Bicycle Association, undertaken by the China Bicycle Association Cycling Culture Promotion Center and Beijing Cyclists Sports Service Co., Ltd., and co-organized by many well-known national bicycle online media. We look forward to bicycle clubs across the country actively registering and participating in the selection.

　　 Award Settings:

　　10 Excellent Bicycle Sports Clubs, including 3 Gold Awards;

　　10 Excellent Bicycle Cycling Clubs, including 3 Gold Awards;

　　10 Excellent Senior Bicycle Clubs, including 3 Gold Awards;

　　10 Excellent University Bicycle Clubs, including 3 Gold Awards;

　　3-6 Excellent Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Bicycle Clubs, including 3 Gold Awards.

　　Registration and Participation Methods: Before May 10, from the website: http://cycling.ride_fashion.com/Information/?cid=4 Download the registration application form, fill in the true information as required, scan it and send it to the organizing committee via email or QQ, or express the paper application form to the Cycling Culture Promotion Center.

　　Submission of Participation Materials: Submit the required detailed participation materials to the organizing committee before August 20.

　　Selection Method: The preliminary selection will be conducted by the review committee to select the excellent clubs for each award. The re-selection will determine the 3 gold award clubs for each award through a combination of review committee voting and netizen voting.

　　Announcement of Gold Award Club Results: The winners of the gold award clubs will be announced at the Jiangsu Kunshan Bicycle Culture Development Forum and Bicycle Night Ceremony on October 10, 2014, and an award ceremony for all excellent clubs will be held.

　　Subsequent Publicity: Award-winning clubs will receive medals and certificates, gold medal clubs will receive trophies, the main achievements and pictures of the award-winning excellent clubs will be included in the forum publication, and will be reported through television and related websites. Some heads of award-winning clubs will also be arranged for interviews by television and online media. The selection results will also be released nationwide through the co-organizing unit's website and forum.
