Jens Voigt, the much-loved cyclist, returned to Australia to participate in the 2014 Tour Down Under, supporting Fränk Schleck's return to the race. Voigt's bike hasn't changed much from last year, but he has a new team name - Trek Factory Racing.

　　Voigt is the oldest participant, his age matching his race number - 42, a true veteran. This means Voigt maintains excellent competitive condition at this age.

　　Voigt is tall and thin, standing at 1.89 meters. Therefore, he has limited component choices to achieve a precise fit. His choice of 177.5mm crank length is uncommon; Trek modified the seatpost top to allow Voigt to use a longer seatpost with a smaller setback.

　　The pedals were changed from Speedplay (lollipop pedals) to Shimano pedals, a relatively minor change. Voigt prefers a wider pedal spacing, so he chose Shimano Dura-Ace pedals with a wide axle, increasing his Q-factor by 8mm.

　　Other configurations are similar to the team (except for Fabian Cancellara, who still uses mechanical shifting). Voigt uses the new 11-speed Dura-Ace 9070 Di2 electronic shifting groupset with an internal battery. In addition, there's an improvement - an extra climbing gear, eliminating the need to remove hands from the handlebars when shifting.

　　Additional shift buttons were added to the handlebars, allowing for shifting without removing hands from the handlebars during climbs.

　　Although Bontrager offers a full range of carbon fiber handlebars, Voigt chose an aluminum model for its greater reliability in the event of a crash.
